The Gathering
The coming together of church members who feel free to question and express concern on
the important issues of Christianity today.
George Mann Bible Class
The George Mann Bible Class is a gathering of men who have discovered a path to Christian understanding through study, discussion and personal friendships. It has endured these seventy years because generations of men have found that it has added meaning to their lives. Our mission is faith-building through the study of the Bible—faith that is carried out through works in the community. Generations come together. Seniors reflect on their experience and, in turn, see the world in new ways through the eyes of younger men. Membership requires only the acceptance of this invitation. Come join with others for coffee cake, the singing of familiar hymns and a class lesson based on a well-structured curriculum.
Early Word Breakfast
This course is called "Early Word" because it meets early in the morning and provides an early look at the development of Sunday’s sermon. The class takes a bible study/discussion format where the preacher for the following Sunday brings the text he/she will use as the basis of the sermon. After providing the group with some background information on the text and some early thoughts on sermon theme and direction, the group enters spirited discussion on possible implications of the text for their lives. At 8:00 a.m. those who can stay adjourn to the chapel for Morning Prayer and participants are on their way to their commitments of the day by 8:30 a.m. Coffee and bagels are provided for breakfast.
